Honey Cake - Twin Quilt - featuring Bee Grateful by Deb Strain 2020
This pattern uses 1 Layer Cake (42 - 10½" squares), background fabric and a binding fabric. Using layer cakes is a great way to use every print in a fabric line when you can’t decide which is your favorite. There were a lot of beautiful fabrics in this Bee group by Deb Strain and the layer cakes are still available on-line. I have also re-coloured this pattern under the name Throw Pillows for Dan DiPaolo’s Sunny Days fabric line which is due out around the end of summer this year. If I am recolouring a pattern that was designed for a Moda Layer Cake with a Clothworks’ 10” Square Pack, I will re-issue it under a different name because Moda typically has 40 different fabrics in their Layer Cakes and Clothworks typically has 2 pieces of 20 different fabrics and it is easier for you for me to do the hard work of deciding where the fabrics should go.
